Communications Strategist

Wild Card is seeking an experienced Communications Strategist to join our Insights Team. This role will be central to audience research and campaign strategy for both our entertainment and brand clients, working closely with our creative and editorial teams and helping shape the new Insights practice.

This is a unique role in comms strategy today—a regular day might have this person reading scripts to help inform whether a film is green-lighted, writing a brief for an upcoming video game, or developing a campaign architecture for either a brand or TV show. A high interest in culture, entrepreneurial outlook, flexibility in how to work with different teams and the ability to tell data- and insight-driven stories in presentations will be critical to success for this opportunity.


Job Responsibilities

● Ability to develop briefs and partner with our Editorial and Creative teams through the strategic and concepting process
● Developing campaign architectures and messaging strategy for both entertainment and brand clients
● Working with Analyst and data partners to find data-driven and culturally relevant insights
● High quality writing and storytelling ability
● Writing POVs on culture and trends for clients and external marketing
● Concepting Media Opportunities when appropriate
● Write POVs on Culture and Trends
● Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team.

Qualifications

● 3-5 years professional experience in Comms Planning, preferably with experience in digital or interactive strategy.
● Meticulous, collaborative, patient, level headed, able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
● Experience with audience research and social listening tools like Simmons, YouGov, Helixa and Sysomos a plus

Finishing/ Production Artist (Graphics Department)

The primary focus of this 3rd Shift position is prepping and finishing graphic assets for theatrical trailers, TV spots, and promos. The right candidate will have extensive experience in Motion Graphics, possess a strong knowledge of the finishing process and an ability to work in an organized, fast-paced team environment that relies heavily on collaboration and file sharing. This is a very technical role that requires the ability to operate without direction and under strict deadlines.

Motion Designer (Graphics Department)

The primary focus of this position is design and animation of motion graphics for theatrical trailers, TV spots, promos, and social media content. The right candidate will have extensive experience in Motion Graphics, possess a strong knowledge of the industry and an ability to work in an organized, fast-paced team environment that relies heavily on collaboration and file sharing.

Qualifications
• Ability to comprehend and develop concepts, including style frames and animation
• Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team
• Ability to learn and participate in the finishing process
• VFX compositing/rotoscoping/tracking
• Comfortable making creative changes based on feedback
• Proactively research creative concepts

Requirements
• Understanding of composition, color, imagery and typography
• College degree in related field preferred
• Experience in Motion Graphics, preferably within the movie trailer industry
• Advanced level of ability in After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D
• Meticulous, collaborative, patient, level headed, able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
